National Registry Examinations for EMTs, Paramedics, & PHRN

Beginning January 1, 2014, all PA DOH EMS Certification programs (EMR, EMT, Paramedic) will be taking the National Registry Psychomotor Practical and Written Exam for state certification.

PHRN PROCESS

• PHRNs wishing to take the National Registry Exam, log in to the www.nremt.org website
• When the candidate is asked if they are taking a certification exam – check NO
• When the candidate is asked if they are taking an assessment exam – check YES
• By checking assessment, the program director does not need to verify completion.

ALS/BLS PROCESS

• The candidate logs into the www.nremt.org website to register. 
• The candidate must pay for the exam at that time by credit card or money order.
• The program director verifies course completion.
• The National Registry Representative verifies successful completion of the practical exam.
• The system will then generate a letter and mail it to the candidate so they may schedule their written exam.
